The Office of International Student Affairs and Global Services is a unit within Student Affairs and One Global WVU. We recruit international students; provide support and guidance to international students from campus life to immigration and visa issues; organize campus-wide international programs; and work with our international alums. We are located in Elizabeth Moore Hall on the downtown campus.
The Office of International Programs is here to facilitate and coordinate all of WVU’s international activities. We are also here to ensure best practices in such activities and to assist in ensuring academic viability as well as safety and security wherever WVU extends its reach.
The Office of International Students & Scholars is committed to service for all members of the international community who participate or will participate in international experiences at WVU. We strive to strengthen, enrich and advocate for international education and cultural exchange by anticipating and responding to specific needs and concerns of this international community.
Established in 1979 and accredited by the AAIEP (American Association of Intensive English Programs) and UCIEP (Consortium of University and College Intensive English Programs), the Intensive English Program in the Department of World Languages, Literature and Linguistics at West Virginia University is a well-established program for international students who seek to improve their English proficiency prior to entering an academic course of study. Students of the IEP are immersed into the student population and participate in numerous aspects of campus life, easing their transition to a regular course of study as a degree seeking student.
